feminine fruit

i love this painting.

it was my first time using oil paints and they are so much fun.

i wasn't sure what i was making at first but as i moved through the process, the meaning of this piece was revealed to me. this canvas carries the abundant energy of fruit, of life-force, purity, and fertility. the red shapes remind me of apples. this artwork is also deeply symbolic of the divine feminine. receptivity, verdance, nurturing, intuition, and flow. the womb of creation, bringing spirit into matter.
