a living journal . . .

this space is an evolving archive of who i am and what i create.

here, i share art, words, and moments in motion. it's not meant to be structured, performative, or complete - only present.

soul

you are a soul. not a body, not a personality, not a brain, not an ego. you are an infinite and eternal source of light, having a temporary experience as a human. no diet, belief, or outward action can change who you are. no thought, identity, or choice can taint the purity of your being. the essence of love is what you are, it is who you are. what unfolds on the physical plane will never overcast the true magnificence of your higher expression. this radiant core remains unto

the garden

thank you so much to everyone who has joined this community. the garden is not 'mine' alone but it is ours and each of you make up this beautiful collective. your presence shapes the field of consciousness that we all share and i am deeply honored to get to be the one to hold that field. the depth of my gratitude cannot be conveyed with words, but just know that this fills my heart in ways i can't explain. i hope you feel seen and loved in this space and that your heart feel

yoga

yoga is not something that is done, it is something that is lived. when yoga was brought to the west, parts of it became very distorted. it was treated as a workout, something physical, a way to sculpt the body. but yoga is far more than just asanas (postures) and we are so much more than these bodies. asanas are only one of eight limbs within yogic philosophy. the eight limbs of yoga are as follows: yama - ethical practices for how we interact with the world through five out

challenges.

may we remember that our most challenging experiences are the most valuable. these moments of pressure and hardship shape us in the most intense, alchemical way. when we are faced with discomfort, we are being handed a lesson waiting to be realized, space to ask, "why is this showing up in my reality? what can i learn from this?" the reflection of people, situations, etc. is an invitation into your own heart. it gently calls you to be honest, curious, and kind with your own b

mulberries

the mulberries dropped today so fresh you could eat them off the ground and i did bathed in rain and swollen with juice they are large and prolific with a subtle sweetness that always makes my throat itch but i indulge anyway i pick one and its neighbor falls right into the bowl the tree is rich the kind of fullness that reveals ten new berries with each step that squashes the fruit and stains my feet last year there was lack small and sparse but now i am blessed with a gift

a poem

the catalpa trees have begun to release their blooms their smell is subtle, simple, and sweet like rain if i were a fairy, her white petals with yellow streaks and purple flecks, would hold my slumber, restorative and peaceful and deep there is a deer in the field, she is quiet, kind, and beautiful sometimes we unite, hearts together my palms open, her ears twitching our eyes reciprocating, a love beyond words that is true and pure the worms in the soil are full, of humus, jo

aphantasia

something that you probably don't know about me is that i have aphantasia. what this means is that i don't visualize ... at all. apart from one isolated experience, i have never seen anything in my minds eye. since i was born, it has always been black. i understand that my soul chose to perceive reality in this way for a reason, that this attribute is not a burden, but a blessing. i actually didn't even know that other people formed mental images until only a few years ago. i

chris + will podcast

i had the honor of being interviewed on chris and will's show "what about our life?". they did an amazing job of making healing feel accessible and helping souls come home to themselves. go check it out and let me know what you think! https://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-what-about-our-life-47038970/episode/714-fin-333680511?app=listen ♡, fin

education

when i go to school . . . i learn what one white man did 200 years ago instead of how to grow our own food in community gardens today. i learn how to raise my hand and follow instructions instead of how to honor my body and regulate my emotions i learn how to find 'credible sources' instead of how to listen to and trust my own intuition. i learn how to tolerate being around certain people instead of how to set boundaries and remove those people from my experience. i learn the
