screen-free saturday !

how come we dont fast from our screens the same way we fast from food?

how often do we truly take the time to pause, unplug, and reconnect?

we are constantly consuming on these boxes of media and whether we like to admit it or not, most of us are addicted to that stream of information. i have begun to integrate a practice that i call 'screen-free saturday'. every saturday, i put my devices away and tune in to my own being. it is the most lovely and liberating experience and i am so grateful to have the ability to do it. taking screens away brings me deeper into peace and presence. it allows my nervous system to regulate and calibrate to its natural pace, slow and rhythmic. humans were never meant to know what's happening in other peoples heads all around the world all the time. we were built to function in local communities, where we speak to each other face to face and live in connection with the land. phones especially, have separated us from mother earth, from living our real lives!

not to mention, clocks. constantly having the time in front of our eyes, in our hands and in our brains reinforces the idea that time is a linear medium that is running out, as opposed to a fluid, eternal, now. removing this pressure of minutes and hours allows my saturday's to flow organically, in divine timing and with the guidance of spirit.

the more mindful we can be about how we spend our time and the more awareness we can bring to our relationships with screens, the greater alignment we will find. be intentional about where you place your attention and use your discernment in regards to the media you consume. remember that you are sovereign and no external thing has authority, control, or power over you.

basically, get off your phone, and go outside!

i love you.
